⚔️ Almohad Persecution of Jews in Spain and North Africa

The Almohads conquer southern Spain and the Magrheb. As they do not regocnise the typical dhimmi status of Jews and Christians, they often force them to chose between conversion and death. They also reintroduce the shikla and force the converted Jews to also wear differentiating clothing as they do not trust their sincerity. Maimonides leaves Cordoba around 1160.⟶
